The
Ethiopian Women's Association is a recent creation. Its main objective
is to organize women of Ethiopian origin, to advocate for social
justice and equity, fight against racial, sexual and other forms
of discrimination. It works for human dignity, social equality
and gender mutuality. The
Ethiopian Women's Association is inclusive- attempts to work with
non-Ethiopian social, political and economic organizations. In
short, it is not an organization that aims to exclude any willing
and interested parties who want to join the organization.
The
Ethiopian Women's Association works with the Ethiopian Association
in Toronto to enhance the integration process of the Ethiopian
Community into the Canadian multicultural milieux.
The
Association's Women's group holds a monthly meeting at the Ethiopian
Association in Toronto to plan the work of the Women association
and disseminate its working principle. With this, it devises policies
and regulation and rule in order to guide its performance.
March

Women's Day (IWD) Established in 1977 by the United Nations,
